Huawei MediaPad 7 Youth 2

The newly announced Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite may get a competition from Huawei, which is about to start selling its very own entry-level tablet.

Building on top of the original MediaPad 7 Youth, version 2 keeps the low-end “charm” with specs that include a 7-inch 1024 x 600 pixels screen, 1.2GHz quad-core chip, 1GB of RAM, 3-megapixel rear and VGA front cameras, only 4GB of internal (though expandable) storage, 4,100 mAh battery and 3G + Wi-Fi connectivity.

Price was not unveiled but since we know how much Samsung will ask for the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite, chances are Huawei’s baby will have a similar if not lower price. So we’re talking about some $130 which seems reasonable considering what you get in return; though adding few extra tens of dollars could get you a much better tablet. It’s really hard to love entry-level devices when mid- and high-end models are getting cheaper with the day…
